Ferrets, Digital Circus, and Surgery! August Shop Update

Hello! I hope you're all having a wonderful day. I'm here to provide some behind the scenes looks into upcoming updates and explain what's been going on this spring/summer.

So, what's the deal?

Well, I started April by going in for a major surgery that's been long overdue. I won't get into specifics, but I was bedridden for a few weeks to make sure my body had time to heal properly. Progress was slow, I didn't get to draw much until June and I was tired most of the time during my recovery. Then when I came back to making art, I was obsessed with drawing The Amazing Digital Circus fanart, haha! Episodes 8 and 9 came out while I was recovering, so when I did draw I mostly wanted to draw Caine and Ragatha (my favs).

So not much for the shop. I mean, I know Glitch Productions and Gooseworx have stated that they're generally fine with fanmade tadc merch and have even greenlit animated au's (such as tadc fight club au). That said, there may be a few pieces of merch on here, such as the new Caine standee and the GummigUwU sticker, but I would rather not abuse their allowance of such things by making loads of digital circus keychains/stickers/standees, etc. Plus, the name of my shop is FeralFerret! I'd like to fill my store with ferret artwork first and foremost.

In-Production:

Right now there are two new ferret designs I've finished rendering and are currently in production! Below is the twisted ferret with a runny egg in its paws! If you've ever owned ferrets, you know a good egg is a nice treat for them :3 Also ferrets are quite boing-y and twisty.

Additionally we have the procrastinator ferret that's also in production right now. This one's mostly for me since I can be terrible about putting off things I don't want to do.

When will the in production stickers be added to the shop?

Future Plans

If there's enough demand I can make alternate variations of my ferret designs, including different fur colors/patterns and fluffy angora ferret versions. But I learned from the fuzzy noodle stickers that, until I receive that kind of support, I can't justify the cost of having multiple designs for one kind of sticker. I have to balance my awareness of what sells with what I want to make for the store. Right now it's better to create new designs than re-color one or two designs.

Additionally, we have other mustelid art in the works. For any music & otter lovers,  there will be more work of my otter character Riptide coming up!

If you were ever wondering how rough my early sketches are, the answer is yes haha! Sometimes I sketch it once and can move on to the linework as I loosely follow the sketch. Other times I'll make 3 or 4 iterations in the sketch stage and strictly follow it when I line it. It just depends.
